Saying Hello to the 21st-Century
This 1980s-style suburban home wanted a 21st-century solution to this somewhat small and narrow living room. Low profile armless furnishings, simple white wooden blinds and minimal accessories make the room look and feel more spacious and modern.
Budget: under $3,000 for furnishings, accessories, window treatments and area rug.

Big Impact on a Small Budget
Neutral is nice, but sometimes we crave something with a bit more drama — but without the dramatic price tag! In this not-too-large master bedroom we painted the walls a moody blue-grey. The softer-styled lamps and silvery accents add some sparkle to the room and the prints on the wall enhance the bed as a focal point. When the budget permits, a simple but elegant glass/crystal ceiling light fixture can be added and an armchair and lamp could eventually replace the existing vase and dogwood branches.
Budget: just under $300 for paint, accent pictures, pillows, lamps, vases and flowers.
